Montri, a 34-year-old Thai citizen, was detained in Bangkok 11 hours after robbing a gold shop on June 19, stealing gold necklaces weighing around 31.6 ounces and valued at approximately 1.8 million baht ($50,000) according to Thai PBS World on June 20.

According to the report, the suspect informed police that he stole from the gold shop. He was stressed and needed the money because he had recently suffered significant losses from his Bitcoin investments during the market crash.
