LGU+, one of South Korea’s largest telecommunications companies, will issue a new batch of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) next month as it expands into the crypto and blockchain sectors.

LGU+ to launch a new NFT collection
According to Money Today and Chosun Ilbo, the company, a subsidiary of the LG conglomerate, will release a new collection featuring its Moono octopus-like animated character. Its first collection, released in May, sold out in less than two seconds when it was made available on the OpenSea platform via the Klaytn blockchain, which Kakao founded.
The first collection included 200 tokens and featured Moono characters enjoying each day of the week. The second collection will be much more extensive, with 1,000 tokens available. According to the company, these will feature Moono office workers and their “changing emotions” throughout the “working week.”

The company also stated that all KLAY tokens obtained from the sale would be donated to charity. The company will keep 100 new NFTs for “marketing purposes,” and the remaining 900 will be sold during two sales on September 5. The first sale period will be from 7 pm to 9 pm, when 300 NFTs will be sold, followed by the final 600 sales from 10 pm to midnight.
Domestic media outlets have previously reported that LG, which has been testing several crypto-related solutions for several years, maybe planning its token launch. SK, which owns SK Telecom, LGU+’s main competitor, has already announced that it will launch a coin through its SK Square subsidiary before the end of the year.
