META’S NEW FEATURE MAKES IT EASIER TO MEET YOUR FRIENDS IN THE METAVERSE

Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of META announced the launch of Horizon Home, an easier way to socialize in the Metaverse. The feature is part of an update in the headset Quest 2 and works like your house in the Metaverse. This is the starting point when you put your headphones up for the first time.

It will be possible to pick between premade options such as a space station, a Japanese inn, or a sunset in the mountains. According to the portal TechCrunch, using “unlicensed tricks,” you can still upload your own choice of background to call home.

META has stated that soon they will launch a tool that will allow users to create their own scenarios in the Metaverse without needing third-party software. Still, it’s impossible to say when that will happen.

In its new feature presentation, Mark Zuckerberg demonstrated interaction with the Alpinist Alex Honnold. In the video, both are in Zuckerberg’s house, and afterward, both move to a 360 video recorded by the Alpinist.

Meta’s goal with Horizon Home is to ensure users have a better social experience. Since, so far, you could participate in a party or even play video games with each other in the Metaverse. However, this social and more private aspect was still missing.

META also stated that leaders from the houses can remove uninvited guests from their homes without a problem to ensure higher security and privacy.
