A Trippy Mega Mutant Bored Ape has sold for 2300 ETH ($3.91 million), making it one of the most significant Bored Ape NFT sales ever. The breathtaking transaction occurred on Tuesday night. The buyer @lior.eth is the new owner of Mutant Ape #30005.
A record breaker sale?
Although we can’t find too much information on the chain, the transaction of the Trippy Mega Mutant Bored Ape #30005 is one of the biggest deals made in the collection. In reply to another thread on Twitter, Lior explained that the trade involved many assets, and the mega ape was valued at 2.4k ETH.
The holy grail of NFTs!
In August last year, the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT holders were airdropped an NFT called the Bored Ape Chemistry Club. There were 10,000 NFTs, each containing a serum designed to transform your Bored Ape.
M1 serum is the most common, with 7,500 of them, with another 2,492 M2 serums. The M1 and M2 serum transform the Bored Ape, but it retains some of its original characteristics.
The M3 serum, also known as the mega serum, on the other hand, completely and unexpectedly transforms a bored ape. Only eight M3 serums exist, and only one is still unburned. In January, an M3 serum sold for 1,542.069 ETH ($5.8 million).
